We recognize November 5th to 11th, 2024
is Veterans' Week and November 8th is Indigenous Veterans' Day.

Remembrance Day assembly at 10:45 am in the school gym.
Our students and staff will gather together and we welcome our school community members to join us.

As a commitment to reconciliation, we acknowledge
that our role is to continue to foster Indigenous Education
throughout the school year.
This week provides an important opportunity to facilitate
learning around treaties, treaty rights, and responsibilities.

Our school Terry Fox Run is scheduled for Friday, Oct 4th at 2:30 pm.

This year’s campaign, #NoMatterWhat, celebrates Terry’s determination and persistence. When running his Marathon of Hope in 1980 he faced many challenges along the way, but he kept going – no matter the obstacles, no matter the journey, no matter the odds - NO MATTER WHAT.

Parent / guardians / staff / community members can make a donation
right to the Terry Fox Foundation website to help our school community
fight in the battle against cancer.

Terry had a dream and he had hope.
With those two things, he set an example of courage, humility
and determination that we celebrate to this day.

Thursday, October 3 - Times are 4 pm to 6 pm.
Parent and guardians are welcome to come to the school at 4 pm to meet the Teachers open house.
Note: Students are dismissed at regular time of 3:30 pm.

The LDCSB will be honouring Truth and Reconciliation week
from September 23- September 27.
Orange Shirt Day will be commemorated on Monday September 30.
During this time, we acknowledge the inter-generational trauma created by residential schools in Canada.
The LDCSB recognizes Orange Shirt Day as an important step in reconciliation,
and with the neighbouring Indigenous nations Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Munsee Delaware Nation, and Oneida Nation of the Thames.

We are excited see all of you in person on the first day of school, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 8:55 a.m.

Families will gather on the school yard between 8:45 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. when the first bell rings.
Teachers and support staff will be on the school yard greeting families and connecting you with your child's Teacher.
